Medicare Rebate for Clinical PsychologistsIf you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), you may like to speak to your GP about providing you with a referral letter and MHCP. With the MHCP, you will be eligible for up to 10 Medicare-subsidised individual psychological sessions:
Rebate for 50+ mins sessions = $141.85 Rebate for 30-50 mins sessions = $96.65 After the first 6 sessions, you will need to return to your GP for a re-referral letter to access a further 4 sessions under the MHCP. You will be able to claim up to 10 sessions per calendar year. |
Private Health, DVA, WorkCover, NDISPrivate Health Insurance
Referral letters are not necessary. You may be able to claim from private health insurance. Rebates will depend on your individual policy. Please note that you may only claim Medicare OR Private Health. DVA: Referral letters are required from your doctor. WorkCover: Approval from WorkCover required prior to treatment. NDIS: I am a non-registered provider and can provide service under self-managed and planned managed only (NOT NDIA-managed). I am no longer accepting third party insurance clients. |
